Easements Aren’t Easy: Practical Experiences and Legal Essentials

Lauren Jones, Senior Counsel, Kronick Moskovitz Tiedemann & Girard

Biography
Lauren is an experienced litigator with extensive trial experience in Superior Court, as well as private arbitration. She also handles transactional matters, utilizing her litigation experience to help her clients plan for and avoid future disputes. With more than ten years of experience, primarily focused on real estate, Lauren represents clients ranging from private individuals to publicly traded companies on a range of matters, including residential and commercial landlord-tenant matters, residential and commercial purchase and sale disputes, construction defects, and land use.

Russel Frink, Senior Counsel, Kronick Moskovitz Tiedemann & Girard

Biography
Russell Frink advises public- and private-sector clients in matters involving environmental law, water rights, natural resources development, and land use regulation. He has extensive experience representing clients in federal and state courts, administrative tribunals, and local government hearings.

Prior to joining Kronick, Russell worked at law firms representing prominent public agencies and private businesses in civil litigation, land use matters, environmental permitting, water rights and water quality issues, and real estate law. He has significant experience providing counsel to land developers, water users, government agencies, agricultural businesses, and mining firms on environmental laws and regulations. Russell’s other areas of expertise include private development fees and local taxes and assessments (Mitigation Fee Act and Props 13, 218, and 26).

Elizabeth Leeper, Senior Deputy General Counsel, El Dorado Irrigation District

Biography
Elizabeth Leeper serves as Senior Deputy General Counsel for the El Dorado Irrigation District (EID). EID is a California special district, and provides a variety of services to the public, including drinking water, wastewater treatment, recycled water, recreational facilities, and hydropower generation. Prior to joining EID, Elizabeth worked for the private law firm of Kronick, Moskovitz, Tiedemann & Girard, as an associate attorney in their Natural Resources group. Ms. Leeper received her juris doctorate from U.C. Hastings College of Law. Elizabeth received her Bachelor of Science degree in Conservation and Resources Studies from U.C. Berkeley.

Brittany Weidner, Associate, Best Best and Krieger LLP

Biography
Brittany Weidner is an associate at Best Best & Krieger LLP where her practice focuses on telecommunications law. She works closely with local governments and public agencies advising on regulatory and transactional matters involving broadband and fiber networks, cable and telecom franchising, cell site leases and licenses, and wireless communication facility applications.
