Animated Construction Videos Illustrate WaterFix Construction

The California Natural Resources Agency today announced the release of four animated videos depicting the construction of planned California WaterFix infrastructure. Based on conceptual engineering designs, the animations show various stages of site preparation and the construction of tunnels, shafts and water intakes.

California WaterFix consists of three new intakes in the northern Delta and two 35-mile-long tunnels to transport water to the existing pumping plants in the south Delta. The California Department of Water Resources approved the project under the California Environmental Quality Act in July. Construction may start as early as 2018.
