TCWD Earns Excellence in Financial Reporting Award by Trabuco Canyon Water District Nov 6, 2023 Member Submitted News Trabuco Canyon Water District has earned the highest recognition in government accounting and financial reporting for its Annual Comprehensive Financial Report. The Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) awarded the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting to TCWD for the report on the fiscal year ending June 30, 2022. “We take pride in the District’s dedication to transparency and sound financial management practices, which are cornerstones of our commitment to our customers,” said TCWD General Manager Fernando Paludi. “This award recognizes the District’s meticulous financial reporting standards and our Board of Directors’ role as vigilant steward of public funds, ensuring that every dollar is used wisely to benefit our customers and our community.” The report was judged by an impartial panel to meet the high standards of the GFOA program, which includes demonstrating a constructive “spirit of full disclosure” to clearly communicate TCWD’s financial story and motivate potential users and user groups to read the report. The GFOA advances excellence in government finance by providing best practices, professional development, resources, and practical research for more than 21,000 members and the communities they serve.
