ACWA’s statewide public education campaign, Quench California, has developed four new videos to help members highlight the importance and positive benefits of investing in water infrastructure. In addition, the campaign will soon be offering localized and boosted digital and social media advertising for sponsoring agencies.

How to use the videos

The visually attractive and engaging videos emphasize the connection between water infrastructure and the daily lives of California residents and businesses. They feature both urban and agricultural messaging.

The videos are approximately two minutes in length, with shorter one minute and 15 second versions available for download that can be especially useful on social media.

Members are encouraged to download and utilize the videos and other customizable tools in two ways:

  1. Help disseminate the QuenchCA messaging and QuenchCA.com website to amplify the campaign’s message throughout the state; and
  2. Customize and incorporate the QuenchCA materials and #QuenchCA into your agency’s social media and collateral materials to educate customers about the importance of your agency’s local water infrastructure projects.

Other toolkit items

You can access all the customizable tools in three different ways. 1. Access the entire toolkit by downloading the zip file from the ACWA website; 2. Download individual files on the ACWA website using the links below; 3. Download files from the campaign website www.QuenchCA.com on the Resources page.

Toolkit items include:

  • Sample social media posts and graphics sized for Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. You can add your agency’s logo to the graphics. Don’t forget to use #QuenchCA.
  • Short animated ads for social media.
  • The QuenchCA logo in various sizes and formats that can be added to your agency’s materials.
  • Three different customizable articles that can be used in newsletters or as a blog post.
  • flyer/infographic explaining the basics of water infrastructure. You can add your agency logo before posting to your website or distributing at public events.
  • glossary of some common water industry terms to help simplify and demystify water infrastructure.

To date, the campaign’s digital ads have received 19 million impressions and the social media posts received more than 16,000 impressions. Together, they have generated more than 35,000 page views on the website.
