The Orange County Water District (OCWD) has taken a leading role in addressing PFAS through an extensive program focused on monitoring, treatment, research, and collaboration with local water agencies. OCWD also operates the Groundwater Replenishment System (GWRS), the world’s largest advanced water purification system for indirect potable reuse, which uses reverse osmosis (RO) as one of three primary treatment processes.

RO removes PFAS and other dissolved compounds from water, concentrating them in a separate residual stream known as reverse osmosis concentrate (ROC). This webinar will examine OCWD’s research into adsorption technology followed by electro-oxidation (EO) to separate PFAS from ROC and destroy the PFAS compounds once removed. The speakers will provide insights into performance, feasibility, and challenges of this integrated approach and its potential in supporting OCWD’s broader PFAS management and water purification programs.

Featured speakers:
– Dr. Manmeet (Meeta) Pannu, Senior Scientist, Orange County Water District
– Zia Klocke, P.E., Product Manager, E2METRIX
