As Director of Water Use Efficiency, I work with my team to develop, implement and evaluate a variety of water use efficiency programs for all urban water users in Orange County. I also implement a comprehensive water loss control program in partnership with our 28 member agencies. These efforts include the development of local, state and federal policies, standards and ordinances. 2. What do you like best about your job? I like my job because what I do benefits the environment and helps consumers save money on their water bills. I also enjoy working with many passionate people in the water industry. 3. How did you get into the water industry? In high school, I was invited by my environmental studies teacher, Mr. Dempsey, to go on a water facilities tour. It was a great opportunity to learn about where our water comes from and the environmental issues associated with importing water into Southern California. This experience inspired my career in the water industry. 4. What is something unique about yourself? I have five beautiful kids and an amazing wife. I enjoy wood working, mountain biking, hiking and gardening. 5. What is your favorite food? I am really adventurous when it comes to food. I don’t have one favorite and will try anything at least once. I love to cook and watch cooking shows. Someday, I’d love to take cooking classes in Italy, France and Spain. Print PDF Version
