Voting Deadline Next Week for ACWA Leadership, Region Boards by ACWA Staff Aug 2, 2023 Member Submitted News Voting is now underway in two separate but concurrent ACWA elections for the 2024-’25 term. The deadline to cast a ballot in both elections is Sept. 15. Ballots for ACWA President and Vice President were emailed from Simply Voting, a company that hosts online elections, to each member agency’s authorized voting representative on July 17. Paper ballots were mailed to agencies that requested that option. The ballots included the names of all qualified candidates and a separate space to write in the name of an eligible candidate. ACWA’s region elections are also underway to determine the boards of each region, including the region Chair, Vice Chair and three to five board members. Region-specific ballots were also emailed to member agencies July 17. The ballots identified the recommended slate of candidates, plus any additional candidates for consideration. ACWA member agencies may vote only once for President and Vice President and only once for the region board candidates in their region. All electronic ballots will be tabulated and kept confidential under the oversight of the Election Committee Chair or his/her designee; All written ballots received by mail will remain sealed until opened in the presence of the Election Committee Chair or his/her designee. Following the designated election deadline, the first-class ballot and electronic ballot results will be totaled in the presence of the Election Committee Chair or his/her designee.
