With the State Water Resources Control Board’s (State Water Board) August 18, 2023 release of the Proposed Text of Regulatory for the Urban Water Use Efficiency Standards, Objectives, and Performance Measures (proposed regulation), the Association of California Water Agencies, the California Municipal Utilities Association and its public water agency members have begun reviewing the proposed regulation to better understand how urban retail water suppliers will need to calculate their Urban Water Use Objective (UWUO) and what type of reduction in water use they will need to achieve.
