Municipal Water District of Orange County Board Elects Robert R. McVicker as Board President by Municipal Water District of Orange County Dec 22, 2023 Member Submitted News FOUNTAIN VALLEY – The Municipal Water District of Orange County (MWDOC) announces the unanimous appointment of Director Robert (Bob) McVicker P.E. as the new President of the MWDOC Board of Directors. Concurrently, Director Jeffery M. Thomas has been appointed to serve as Vice President of the Board. McVicker, who previously served as Vice President, was appointed to the Board in 2019 and elected in 2020. “I am deeply honored to assume the role of President for MWDOC,” said McVicker. “Serving as Vice President has been a rewarding experience. I am excited to lead the Board in our collective efforts to ensure a reliable, sustainable, and affordable water future for Orange County.” President McVicker represents MWDOC’s Division 3, which includes the areas of Cypress, Fountain Valley, Los Alamitos, Stanton, Westminster, the western portion of Garden Grove, and nearby unincorporated Orange County. McVicker has over 40 years of industry experience as an engineer, manager, and consultant. Now semi-retired, he is a member of multiple industry organizations, including the American Water Works Association and the Orange County Water Association. Throughout his career, his work has been recognized by various organizations, including the American Membrane Technology Association and the Leadership Tomorrow Program. An Orange County resident for 36 years, he has been a Fountain Valley planning commissioner and served on the County of Orange’s Well Standards Advisory Board. McVicker graduated from Humboldt State University and received his master’s degree from Utah State. He lives in Fountain Valley with his wife, Gloria. Vice President Thomas, a seasoned investment management professional, has served on the MWDOC Board since 2009. He represents Division 6, which includes the cities of Tustin and Rancho Santa Margarita and portions of Irvine, Lake Forest, Mission Viejo, San Juan Capistrano, and San Clemente. He has served as Mayor and Councilman for the city of Tustin.
