The Chief, Division of Multibenefit Initiatives, under general direction of the Deputy Director, Integrated Water Management Programs and the Director, plans, organizes, directs, and controls the programs and activities of the Division in accordance with applicable laws and regulations. This is a critical position that is responsible for the development and implementation of a near- and long-term vision and strategies for the effective and efficient integration of Delta and Central Valley flood risk reduction and habitat restoration. Responsible for leading, planning, organizing, and providing policy direction and high-level oversight for the activities and programs within the EcoRestore, Delta Levees and Associated Habitat Improvement, and Systemwide Multibenefit Initiatives Branches. Works under the direction of the Deputy Director, Integrated Watershed Management (IWM) and with other Division Chiefs, and coordinates with the Department of Water Resources’ (DWR) executive management team to deliver innovative, relevant, timely, and cost-effective projects, plans, and strategies for future associated activities. Represents DWR on statewide water management policy matters with federal, State, and local government, the water industry, and other stakeholders and recommends courses of action to DWR Executive management. May provide support for other Department priorities across the state, as needed.
