Reimagining Paradise: A Tour of Renewal and Resilience

ACWA Region 2 is hosting a program and tour to highlight the resilience and revival of the town of Paradise, in the wake of the devastating 2018 Camp Fire. This comprehensive tour and program will delve into the multifaceted aspects of recovery, focusing on mitigation and fire prevention initiatives spearheaded by the Paradise Irrigation District, as well as the remarkable economic resurgence and the ongoing rebuild of the town of Paradise.

Throughout the event, participants will have the unique opportunity to witness firsthand the innovative strategies and community-driven efforts that have been instrumental in the town’s recovery journey. Led by knowledgeable guides and local experts, attendees will gain insights into the challenges faced and the progress achieved in mitigating future fire risks, safeguarding water resources, and fostering sustainable growth.

Highlights of the tour include:

  1. Guided Tour: Embark on a guided bus tour of Paradise, where you’ll witness the transformative impact of resilience and solidarity in rebuilding the town’s infrastructure and restoring its vibrant community spirit.
  2. Paradise Irrigation District Showcase: Engage with representatives from the Paradise Irrigation District to learn about their proactive measures in fire mitigation, water management, and infrastructure enhancements aimed at safeguarding the community against future disasters.
  3. Economic Recovery Insights: Hear from local business leaders about the revitalization of Paradise’s economy, from the innovative strategies driving small business growth to the broader economic development initiatives shaping the town’s future prosperity.
  4. Rebuild Progress Update: Gain firsthand knowledge of the ongoing rebuild efforts in Paradise, including the latest updates on residential and commercial reconstruction projects.

Tour information
The tour is approximately 90 minutes. Event registration includes a program, tour, lunch, and meeting materials.

*All tour-registered attendees MUST wear close-toed shoes. Light comfortable clothes, sun block, hats, and sunglasses are recommended. *Preliminary materials will be updated immediately in the event of a change.
